Experienced Striker Heads to Royston

New forward for Crows.

Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Royston Town have signed experienced and well-travelled striker Duncan Culley from Isthmian League South Central Division side Tooting & Mitcham United.

The 32-year-old joined the Terrors in February 2020 but only made a couple of appearances before lockdown occurred and then another couple this season.

He first came to prominence in 2013/14 while at Shortwood United, netting 39 times in just 47 appearances, and started the following season, in the same manner, scoring 4 times in their opening three games which brought him to the attention of Bromley, for whom he promptly signed.

His spell at Bromley was not prolonged though and he moved on to play for both Farnborough and Bishop’s Stortford in the next couple of seasons.

He started the 2016/17 season at Whitehawk after a second spell with Hampton & Richmond Borough and then joined Lewes in September 2016.

His stay with the Rooks was a brief one and he returned for what was to prove to be an acrimonious return to Whitehawk in November 2016 until January 2017 – a period for which he had to take the Hawks to court for unpaid wages, which he was eventually awarded.

He re-joined the Beavers for the third time in January 2017 and then had a successful two-season spell with Hayes & Yeading United, netting 37 goals in 59 games.

He joined Tooting from Combined Counties League outfit Hanworth Villa after recovering from an injury.
