Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Barwell have brought in young midfielder James Rowland on loan from League One side Shrewsbury Town.
Rowland joined Shrewsbury from West Bromwich Albion at the end of his under-14 year.
The diminutive midfielder quickly got to grips with life at Shrewsbury and was already playing in the under-18 side as an under-15 during the 2016/17 season.
He went from strength to strength and was a near-ever present in the second half of the campaign before signing a scholarship in the summer of 2018.
He made his senior debut in November 2018 in the group stage of the EFL Trophy in a 2–1 win at Crewe Alexandra and was handed his first professional contract by Shrewsbury in May 2019.
In January 2020, he joined Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season but made only 3 appearances before lockdown occurred.
