Sammons Returns to Halesowen

Fan favourite re-joins the Yeltz.

Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central club Halesowen Town have re-signed attacking midfielder Ashley Sammons.

The 29-year-old left the Yeltz in September to join Southern Premier Division Central side Stratford Town.

He had originally signed for Halesowen from Southern Premier Central neighbours Rushall Olympic in June 2019.

Solihull-born, he began his career with Birmingham City, coming through the academy and youth team ranks before making one first-team appearance in the League Cup.

During his time with the Blues, he also represented England at under-17 level.

He has also played for Hereford United, Worcester City, Corby Town, Hednesford Town and Solihull Moors, but his most successful spells have been for Redditch United where he made over 100 appearances, scoring nearly 50 goals.

Sammons scored 9 goals for the Yeltz last season in 41 appearances including netting twice in their historic Buildbase FA Trophy run away at Evesham United and Bradford Park Avenue.
