Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Peterborough Sports have been boosted ahead of their Buildbase FA Trophy tie against Hitchin Town.
The ambitious outfit announced that manager Jimmy Dean and striker Dion Sembie-Ferris had both signed extended deals at the Bee Arena.
Dean took over at Sports in the 2015/16 season and immediately made an impact, winning the Step 6 United Counties League Division One title at the first attempt and breaking several records along the way.
The Hinchingbrooke Cup, Northants and UCL League Cup followed that season.
The following season again yielded a historic year for the Turbines, winning the UCL Premier Division title and being promoted to Step 4 for the first time in the club's history with a record 112 points and the highest-scoring team in England at the level.
The club`s first into Step 4 was a baptism of fire. A depleted squad found the turbines at the bottom of the Northern Premier League Division One South table at the end of January 2018.
With grit and a few key signings, the Turbines rose and ended the season in a respectable twelfth spot.
The 2018/19 saw Sports transferred to the Southern League and a historic season followed, finishing the season as champions under Dean and the club`s furthest venture in the FA Cup, with a game on the BBC's red button.
Their maiden season at Step 3 in the Southern Premier Division Central went better than anyone expected as the club topped the table when it came to an abrupt end due to COVID-19.
An excellent run in the FA Cup, surpassing the previous season, which saw the club one step away from the First Round.
Dean was also a very good non-League midfielder in his day, winning several trophies along the way.
He gained promotion to Step 4 with St Ives Town and was captain at Westwood Road.
He also turned out for Yaxley, Deeping Rangers and Peterborough Northern Star.
Sembie-Ferris was signed by Dean in November 2018 from St Neots Town.
The 24-year-old is Peterborough-based, and started his career at St Neots, before moving to Colchester United where he made 25 appearances and also had loan spells at Margate and Concord Rangers in the National League South before returning to St Neots in 2017.
He was top scorer in the Turbines` promotion season followed up by the award of league player of the season at Step 3.
He has extended his contract with Sports for a further twelve months.
