Shock for Moneyfields as Manager Quits

Successful boss and assistant depart.

Pitching In Southern Football League Division One South club Moneyfields have announced that manager Dave Carter and his assistant Gavin Spurway have stepped down with immediate effect.

The pair have dropped back down to the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier Division to take charge of ambitious AFC Portchester, who
have been searching for a manager since sacking Mick Catlin in October 2020 following a poor start to the season.

Former Horndean boss Carter guided Moneyfields into the Southern League from the Wessex League for the first time in their history as runners-up in 2016.

In 2018/19, Moneys made the play-offs after narrowly missing out on a berth in their first season following promotion.

In October 2019, Carter resigned as Moneys boss but reconsidered a month later and swiftly returned to the helm.

But now he has definitely brought an end his six-year reign as boss, having also guided Moneys into the Division One South play-offs in just their second season playing at that level.
