Barry Corr
Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central club St Neots Town have announced that Barry Corr has accepted a position within the management team at Cambridge United and will therefore be relinquishing his position as the Saints` manager with immediate effect.
The club have congratulated Corr on being offered the position with the U`s, newly promoted from league Two, and have thanked him for all his time and efforts in what was a very entertaining and successful spell in charge.
The Saints were sitting in second place in the table and reached the Second Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy before the season was sadly cut short due to COVID-19.
As Corr departs, Peter Gill has been appointed as his replacement and will be assisted by Sean Greygoose.
Ironically, Gill joins St Neots from Cambridge United, where he holds the position of head of coaching and will combine this job with taking the reins at The Premier Plus Stadium, just as Corr did before him.
Peter Gill
Starting out at Leyton Orient, Gill spent almost one year as head football coach in their college education programme and progressed in the roles of youth development phase age group and lead coach and professional development phase coach (under-18 coach).
Next was a spell at Barnet and the role of academy manager and then onto Cambridge United in May 2020.
Whilst at Barnet, Gill also spent time as coach at Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town.
Gill told the club`s website: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity by Lee Kearns and the Board of Directors to manage this football club and I look forward to carrying on the great work done by Barry Corr over the last year or so.
“In recent seasons St. Neots Town have been very well known for their attacking style of play and that is something the coaching staff and I wish to continue.
“It is a great time to take over what with the impending expected return of the Saints fans in pre-season and I look forward to meeting you all very soon”.
