Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Rushall Olympic have announced that manager Liam McDonald has agreed an extension to his deal at Dales Lane.
McDonald was appointed as the Pics manager in October 2017.
He had only parted company with Vanarama National League club Solihull Moors by mutual consent two weeks before taking the post at Dales Lane, after a year in charge, and had planned to take a break from the game.
McDonald replaced Wayne Thomas in the Olympic hot seat having shone in managerial spells at Redditch United from May 2013 until May 2016 and Hednesford Town from May 2016 to November 2016 before keeping Solihull up in the National League in 2016/17.
As a player he represented Worcester City, Hednesford, Halesowen Town, Sutton Coldfield Town, Barwell, Kettering Town, Redditch and Tamworth.
McDonald told his club`s website: “I am extremely pleased to agree this new deal with the club. It’s been a tough 12 months both on and off-the-pitch, but I wanted to sign this extension because my coaching staff and I are so happy here.
“We’ve watched things grow and progress since the day we first set foot in the place. It feels very much my club and my home, and the family feel around the whole place is so special.
“We’re also extremely fortunate to have such a great facility here at Dales Lane; attendances are on the increase and there is plenty to be positive about as we look to keep pushing on.
“I’m already well into the process of getting a competitive squad together for next season. We’ve been in and around the leading pack in each of the last two incomplete seasons and we want to keep punching above our weight and moving forward”.
