Two More Put Pen-To-Paper for Nuneaton

Another couple of players commit to Boro.

Defender Ethan Stewart and young striker Harry Jackson are the latest players to re-sign for Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central cljub Nuneaton Borough.

Twenty-one-year-old Stewart joined Boro in early October 2020 after being released by Championship side Nottingham Forest.

He progressed through the Forest youth set up both at under-18 and under-23 level, for whom he was a regular for in 2019/20.

He also gained experience with a month`s loan spell in the Vanarama National League North with Alfreton Town the same season.

Boss Jimmy Ginnelly told the club`s website: “I am thrilled that Ethan has put pen-to-paper at Liberty Way again. He’s a young lad trying his hardest to get back into the Football League.

“Ethan’s learning all about himself whilst being toughened up by the rigours of non-League football. He learned very quickly that it’s most definitely not the same as the under 21 football he played at Nottingham Forest.

“He played a big part in our form just beginning to pick up when the latest lockdown hit us all and stopped us in our tracks. Ethan’s an excellent defender, good in the air, a very good passer of the ball and he pops up with the odd goal here and there. This is a big season for Ethan."

Having progressed through the Boro youth team system, Harry Jackson has also pledged his future to the club for the 2021/22 season.

Jackson initially signed first-team forms in October 2019 and his ability and work ethic have been rewarded with a new deal.

Ginnelly added: "I am very happy to give Harry another opportunity to be part of the group. He’s learning all the time and I’d like nothing more than for ‘H’ to be the new kid on the block at Liberty Way. He’s very enthusiastic about his football, he keeps himself in great shape and is a very willing learner.

“Harry is surrounded by some very experienced footballers, and I hope he keeps progressing and picking up all the good habits and advice from the lads".
