Another Player Returns to Merthyr Ranks

Midfielder makes Martyrs return.

Another player has returned to Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Merthyr Town.

Popular midfielder Matthew Harris has returned to The Met Coaches Community Stadium after leaving for Cymru Premier side Penybont FC in the summer of 2019.

Harris, who made 309 appearances for his home-town club, was a member of the Martyrs` Welsh Cup-winning youth team before he progressed into the senior team.

The now 27-year-old left for a brief spell with Britton Ferry before returning during 2017/18 season.

His other former clubs include Afan Lido and Neath.

Manager Dean Clarke told his club`s website: "I'm delighted to welcome Matty back to the Football Club. He is a very versatile player who will give us a lot of different options come the start of this season. He is a talented individual whose experience will be invaluable going forward".
