Redditch Pair Put Pen-to-Paper for 2021/22

Another two commit to Reds.

Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Redditch United have announced the re-signing of fan favourites Kieran Day and skipper Tom Rankin on contract terms for the 2021/22 season.

Midfielder Day, 26, originally signed for the Reds in the summer of 2020.

He was previously with West Midlands (Regional) League side Cradley Town but made the step up seamlessly.

Rankin, who turns 26 next Wednesday, switched to the Trico Stadium in October 2019.

A local Bromsgrove lad, he had two spells with home-town club Bromsgrove Sporting and also turned out for Loughborough University in 2018 after previous spells with Leamington and in the United States.

Manager Matt Clarke told his club`s website: “I think it’s really positive, handing contracts to Tom and Kieran. They were both mainstays of our success last season.

“Tom has been here for a long time now and really epitomises what Redditch is all about.

“With Kieran, when I first walked into the building, I had never heard of him! Within about a week I could tell he was going to be very important for us. He’s progressed, got better and better and he is now a top player at this level”.
