Bideford in action at Exmouth
In front of a crowd of 454 at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium, Premier Division Central club Banbury United were beaten 3-0 by a young but impressive League One Oxford United outfit.
Goals from Gatlin O'Donkor, Derick Osei Yaw and Tyler Goodrham sealed it for the U`s.
Banbury`s league rivals Needham Market were also in action against a League One under-23 side in Ipswich Town at Bloomfields.
It was a terrific 25-yard effort from Tawanda Chirewa who won it for the Tractor Boys.
Another Premier Division Central outfit, Nuneaton Borough, played Midland League Division One side Atherstone Town in the first leg of the Ron Bradbury Trophy at Sheepy Road.
Harry Wakefield gave Boro an early 5th minute lead with a fine drive from 20 yards.
But an Alex Naughton penalty pulled the Adders back on level terms after 33 minutes.
The visitors restored their advantage right on the stroke of half-time through Carl Baker.
Atherstone, however, drew level just past the hour-mark through Nathan Haines, who then made it 3-2 just 2 minutes later.
Then, 8 minutes from time, Boro were awarded a penalty which former Middlesbrough star Leroy Lita duly converted to restore parity.
On 86 minutes, Jimmy Ginnelly`s men managed to take a narrow lead into the second leg, which is on Saturday at Liberty Way, courtesy of Joel Heeley.
Premier Division Central side Barwell were also in action as they made the journey to Steel Park to play Corby Town, now members of the Northern Premier Division One Midlands.
And it saw the Steelmen win 2-1, courtesy of a Jordan O`Brien brace – the first from the spot after 16 minutes and the second 5 minutes into the second half after the Canaries had levelled 4 minutes before the break through an un-named triallist.
Barwell`s league rivals Alvechurch were also beaten, 3-1 at Lye Meadow by Championship side Birmingham City`s under-23s.
Premier Division South Yate Town achieved a 3-1 win at Hellenic League Premier Division side Roman Glass St George.

Former Harrow player Albert Adomah received a warm welcome back by home supporters.
Division One South side Cinderford Town were edged out by the odd goal in five at The Causeway by a youthful squad from Vanarama National League North outfit Gloucester City.
Harry Emmett and Lewis Bamford were the Foresters` on the mark, with Jamie Bremner and two triallists accounting for the Tigers goals.
Cinderford`s league rivals Bideford AFC`s latest friendly saw them make the trip to Toolstation Western League Premier Division Exmouth Town`s Southern Road.
And it finished in a competitive 1-1 draw in which Henry Cooper managed to get in with a late blow to Exmouth with a late equaliser after the hosts had led through Dean Billingsley`s first half effort.
Another Division One South club, Paulton Rovers, sealed a best-of-five win at Winterfield Road against Championship side Cardiff City`s youngsters.
It was an unfortunate 86th minute own goal that sealed Rovers` win.
Chanka Zimba put the Welsh side ahead on 41 minutes, but Rovers levelled on 48 minutes through Dan Cottle.
Nine minutes later Cardiff restored their lead through a triallist. However, Braeden Symes equalised on 66 minutes with a fierce shot and on 86 minutes Paulton got the winner an overhit back pass by Josh Rippon eluded his keeper to make it 3-2.
