Much-Travelled Keeper Arrives at Waltham Abbey

Experience goalkeeper joins league new boys.

Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central newcomers Waltham Abbey have signed the much-travelled goalkeeper Ashlee Jones.

The experienced 34-year-old joined Isthmian League North side Coggeshall Town in June 2019 and then moved to rivals Heybridge Swifts in March 2020.

He featured twice for the SeedGrowers in 2018/19 on dual registration with the Abbots` new league rivals Bedford Town, including a memorable penalty shoot-out performance in the Isthmian League Cup at home against Great Wakering Rovers.

He was in Southampton`s under-18 squad that reached the 2005 FA Youth Cup final and since then has embarked on a well-travelled non-League career that has taken in stops of varying lengths at the now defunct Rushden & Diamonds, Basingstoke Town, Crawley Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Lowestoft Town, Chesham United, Kingstonian, Darlington, Boreham Wood, Billericay Town, Wealdstone, Canvey Island, Harlow Town, Braintree Town and Bedford.
