St Ives Bring in Former Cobbler

New midfielder joins Saints.

>1>Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club St Ives Town brought in midfielder Camron McWilliams ahead of Tuesday night`s game against Needham Market.

The 20-year-old is, however, no stranger to Westwood Road as he had a loan spell with the Saints in 2019/20, making 3 appearances and scoring one goal when still on the books at Northampton Town.

He joins the Saints on a more permanent basis after being released by Championship side Cardiff City, who he joined last summer from the Cobblers, where he played at under-18 level, as well as featuring for the first team.

Indeed, he was the first player born this millennium to have been named in a senior matchday squad for Northampton when he was named on the bench for a Checkatrade Trophy tie against Peterborough United in 2017.

A versatile player who is comfortable in several positions across midfield and defence, he has also been on loan at Corby Town and was a member of Cardiff`s under-23 squad last term.
