Beaconsfield Town`s first home game after the refurbishment of their Holloways Park ground didn`t go to plan as they were beaten 4-2 by Walton Casuals in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South on Monday night.
In fact, the evening could hardly have got off to a worst start when a shot from long-range from Shaun McAuley put the visitors in front inside the opening 2 minutes.
And then only 6 minutes later, Adam Liddle ran in behind the Rams` defence and rounded `keeper Alex Tokarczyk to make it 2-0.
With just 14 minutes gone on the clock, Casuals added a third when Liddle added his second of the game.
Gary Meakin`s hosts got themselves back in the game in the 37th minute with an excellent lobbed effort from Scott Donnelly.
Then, within a minute of the second half getting underway, the Rams pulled back a second with a goal from close-range from Olly McCoy.
Beaconsfield were now on the front foot and came very close to equalising just shy of the hour-mark but Donnelly`s 30-yard free-kick crashed back off the crossbar.
But as the home side continued to press for the leveller, they were eventually caught on the counter-attack in the 4th minute of stoppage time when Bradley Keetch confirmed Casuals` win with a fourth.
As a result of the three points, Casuals moved up to eighth place in the table.
