Truro Make Trophy Progress

White Tigers avoid upset.

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Truro City avoided an upset in the Buildbase FA Trophy when they edged out Division One South side Cirencester Town in the tie postponed from Sunday.

The original Third Qualifying Round tie was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Truro`s temporary Bolitho Park home but the White Tigers made it through 1-0 to take on Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Bognor Regis Town in the First Round later this month.

On a cold evening in Plymouth, what turned out to be the only goal of the game arrived in the 13th minute when the Centurians failed to clear a Ryan Brett cross and Euan Pollock slotted the loose ball home.

Alex Harris in the Cirencester goal made a couple of fine saves to keep the tie alive but they weren`t able to find a leveller to take the game to penalties and it`s the White Tigers who go through.
