Banbury won the award for the second successive month, as Andy Whing`s team began October with a 1-0 win over Northern Premier League Premier Division side Basford United in the Emirates FA Cup and, after successive league victories against Nuneaton Borough and Bromsgrove Sporting and a League Cup victory against Didcot Town, the Puritans caused an upset by knocking Vanarama National League South outfit Bath City out of the FA Cup to set up a First Round Proper tie against Barrow AFC on Saturday.
Banbury completed a busy October by maintaining their unbeaten run in the league with wins over Leiston and Royston Town and a 1-0 success against NPL Division One Midlands outfit Corby Town in the Buildbase FA Trophy and another League Cup triumph, this time against Thame United.
Southern League chairman Terry Barratt presented the award on Tuesday night to Andy Whing (right) and coach Craig Pead (left).
