Experienced Defender Joins Casuals

Experienced defender Tom Bird has joined Walton Casuals from Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South rivals Hartley Wintney.


Bird, who turns 33 next week, began his career in Chelsea’s youth ranks before joining Basingstoke Town in 2007.

A year later he moved to Fleet Town, from whom he signed for Isthmian Premier club Kingstonian for the first time in the summer of 2010.

Two seasons later he moved to Carshalton Athletic for a short spell, and from October 2012 he spent the rest of the campaign back at K’s.

He has also played for Hayes & Yeading United, Metropolitan Police, Gosport Borough and Merstham.

He re-joined Kingstonian in February 2019 and then moved to Hartley Wintney in the summer of 2019 and made over 50 appearances for The Row.
