St Ives Take Keeper on Loan

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club St Ives Town have signed young goalkeeper Mackenzie Chapman on a month’s loan from League One side Oxford United.

Chapman joined the U’s in August from League Two side Oldham Athletic and has recently been on loan with the Saints` league rivals Banbury United.

He started out at Accrington Stanley from under-8s to under-11s before completing a move to Premier League Burnley where he remained until his scholarship.

He joined Manchester United for the first year of his scholarship before moving to Oldham where he was back up keeper for the first-team for much of last season as well as making his senior debut.

He was recalled from his loan at Banbury last week as cover but with Simon Eastwood and Jack Stevens back in training and Kie Plumley also now available he joins St Ives and is expected to be part of their team to play – ironically - Banbury at home on Saturday.
