Striker Returns to Hitchin on Loan

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Hitchin Town have announced the return of young forward Jake Hutchinson on loan from League Two side Colchester United.

Hutchinson originally joined the Canaries on a loan from Colchester in November 2020 having previously enjoyed similar spells in the Isthmian League North Division at Grays Athletic and Maldon & Tiptree and Isthmian Premier Division with Brightlingsea Regent.

He enjoyed a successful time at Top Field, scoring 7 goals in 15 games.

The 21-year-old came through the youth system with the U`s, first being included in a matchday squad at Morecambe in 2020.

The forward excelled at youth levels and more recently in the under-23s but has been made to wait for his chance at first team level.

He had a loan spell in the Vanarama National League South with Tonbridge Angels earlier this season, playing 5 games.

Hutchinson goes straight into the squad to face Stourbridge on Saturday.

Meanwhile, both Daniel Akubuine and Ryan Smith have departed Top Field.
