Two New Abbots

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Waltham Abbey have boosted their squad for the busy period ahead with two new signings.

Darnell Goather-Braithwaite

Darnell Goather-Braithwaite

Midfielder Declan Rydings joins the Abbots having been on the books at Northern Premier League Division One West side Trafford.

The 26-year-old joined Trafford in August 2017 after moving to the area to attend the University of Manchester.

He had previously been with Billericay Town and Millwall `down south` and played for North West Counties League side West Didsbury & Chorlton prior to signing for Trafford.

The Abbots will hope that striker Darnell Goather-Braithwaite stays a little longer at Capershotts than with his last couple of clubs!

The 22-year-old joins from Isthmian League North Division side Barking, where he had only been since November.

He had joined the Blues having only been at Isthmian Premier outfit Leatherhead since late October after arriving from league rivals Wingate & Finchley.

He had signed for Wingate in the summer of 2021 from Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town.

He was previously at Brimsdown Rovers, Barkingside, Walthamstow, Aylesbury United, Westfield and Romford, having started out at Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
