Royston Town head into Christmas in seventh place in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central, seven points adrift of the play-off places, after winning by the odd goal in five at the Trico Stadium against Redditch United on Monday night.
However, things are not looking as rosy for the Reds as a second successive defeat in 48 hours leaves them in 18th spot, just three points above bottom-markers Nuneaton Borough.
A crowd of 262 saw Matt Clarke`s hosts take a 1-0 lead into half-time, courtesy of a deflected Charlie Williams effort.
And within a minute of the restart, Lewis Hudson went on a run that led to him beating Dimi Kyiatzis in the Crows` goal to make it 2-0.
But on 54 minutes, Adam Murray headed in a free-kick to reduce the deficit to one.
However, the turning point in the match came a minute later when Hudson was shown a straight red card for a tackle deemed reckless by the referee.
Then on 72 minutes, Murray was fouled in the box and Brandon Adams equalised from the resulting penalty.
And 5 minutes from time, the ten-men conceded a third when Isaac Galliford curled the ball past Kieran Boucher to earn Royston all three points.
