Turbines Add to Already Strong Attacking Options

Peterborough Sports have boosted their already impressive array of attacking options by signing Ryan Hawkins from Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central rivals Lowestoft Town.

Hawkins, who turned 27 today, had joined the Trawlerboys in early November 2020 from Vanarama National League side King`s Lynn Town and made 23 appearances this season, scoring 4 goals.

He had signed for Lynn in November 2016 from St Neots Town for an undisclosed four-figure fee.

He was a member of Premier League Norwich City's academy at the age of 7 and, having made his debut for Dereham Town`s first team on loan at the age of 16, he returned to the Canaries and made one appearance for their under-18 side against Manchester City in April 2013.

He returned to Dereham scoring 24 goals in the 2014/15 season to win the Magpies' player of the season award.

He joined St Neots on a two-year deal in June 2015, making 34 appearances in his first season with them, scoring 9 goals.

His performances earned him a trial with Peterborough United in January 2016, but an ankle ligament injury ended his season early.

The summer of 2016 saw him trial with Stevenage, but he stayed with St Neots and has made 12 appearances at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, scoring twice.

In October 2016 he had an extended trial with Newport County prior to his move to Lynn, who he helped to promotion as Southern Premier Central play-off winners, making 48 appearances in all, scoring 10 goals.
