Mawford Swaps Relegation Scrap for Promotion Push

Experienced attacking midfielder Jake Mawford has swapped a relegation scrap with Barnstaple Town to join the promotion race with Pitching In Southern League Division One South rivals Cirencester Town.

The 28-year-old had moved to Barum in January following the appointment of Craig Laird as manager.

He joined from another Southern Division One South rival, Melksham Town.

He had been with Melksham since October 2020 after arriving from Southern Premier Division South side Taunton Town, who he had joined in July 2020.

He had re-joined Weston-super-Mare in May 2019 from Gloucester City, having signed for the Tigers in the summer of 2018 from Dorchester Town, who he had been with since January 2016 when he joined from the Seagulls.
