Mitchell Makes His First New Signing for Citizens

Max Mitchell, the new manager of Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Welwyn Garden City, has made his first signing of the close season.

Following the news that several of last season’s squad had agreed to stay with the Citizens, Mitchell has moved to bring highly-rated winger Cheyce Grant to the club from league rivals Berkhamsted.

The 22-year-old joined Berko in November 2021 from Isthmian League South Central side Chalfont St Peter.

He had been with the Saints since August 2021 after arriving from Southern Premier Division South side Beaconsfield Town.

He had joined the Rams in early February 2020 from rivals Walton Casuals, where he had been since July 2019.

He started out at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Vanarama National League side Boreham Wood where he also represented England Colleges, and then Hendon, Edgware Town and London Tigers.

He re-joined Hendon in June 2020.
