Defender Nick Rhodes has joined former Bluebells` team-mates Liam Angel and Ricardo Rees in moving to South Wales.
The experienced 32-year-old was a member of Cinderford Town`s 2015/16 Southern Division One South title-winning squad after arriving from Bishops Cleeve in 2014.
He left for a spell at Evesham United before returning in the middle of the 2017/18 season.
He is an outstanding defender who put a couple of seasons blighted by injury behind him and showed again the form that led Cinderford to a record number of clean sheets in the title-winning season.
He moved to Southern Premier outfit Yate in the summer of 2020.
Michael told his club’s website: “Nick is an outstanding defender who’s won this league before at Cinderford under John Brough, he’s also proven at the level above and one of the very best out and out defenders that I’ve worked with.
“He reads the game well, he’s another leader who enjoys defending which will contribute to a really good mix of experience and youth that we are developing.
“I’ve obviously worked with Nick for a long time now at Cinderford and Yate, he knows and enjoys the environment we create and is excited at the prospect of joining Merthyr Town whilst I also know and trust the qualities that he will bring to Merthyr Town, the qualities we need to challenge at the very top”.
