Jon Clements
Experienced striker Jon Clements becomes the second player to switch from new league rivals Welwyn Garden City to the Waders, following Lee Close.
The 31-year-old re-joined the Citizens in November 2021.
He had returned to their former league rivals Colney Heath in June 2021 from then-Essex Senior League side Walthamstow.
He moved to Stow in the summer of 2020, having led the Magpies scoring charts with 17 in the league and 32 in total in the voided 2019/20 Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division campaign.
The experienced player started out at Boreham Wood, for whom he made around 50 appearances and scored 7 goals.
He moved on to have spells with London Colney, for whom he enjoyed a prolific 2016/17 season, scoring 41 goals in 54 games, then to Welwyn Garden City for the first time, for whom he netted 37 goals the following season, and Tring Athletic before joining Colney Heath for the first time in 2019.
Another striker added to O’Keefe’s group is Ashley Hay, who arrives from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Baldock Town
The sought-after striker brings pace and an excellent scoring record to the Waders, who fought off several other clubs to secure the striker`s signature.
He scored 25 goals in 47 games for Baldock last season, having netted 10 in 17 games in 2020/21 after arriving from SSML Division One side Letchworth Garden City Eagles.
He was originally on the books at Luton Town and then Hitchin Town as a youngster.
O’Keefe has also signed young midfielder Lewis Smith, who he knows from his time as academy manager at League Two Stevenage.
He will add athleticism and excellent technical ability to the side and has an eye for goal too.
