Gary Setchell, manager of newly promoted Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Bedford Town, has added two late new players to his squad.

Sam Granville

Sam Granville

Midfielder Jack Moriarty joins the Eagles from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Potton United.

The 20-year-old had joined Potton last season via a short spell with Berkhamsted Raiders, having arrived at Bedford’s league rivals Kings Langley in the summer of 2021.

He came through the ranks at League Two Stevenage and accepted a scholarship in late 2017 to begin full-time for the 2018/19 season upon completion of his GCSEs.

He became a regular in Boro`s under-18s and gained experience in the Southern League in 2019/20 with a loan spell with Division One Central outfit Biggleswade FC.

Bedford have also signed young midfielder Sam Granville on a month’s loan from Vanarama National League side Barnet.

Granville has spent his youth with Barnet, and last summer signed his first professional contract with the club.

He went on to make 13 appearances in the National League with the Bees last season.
