Going into the hat for tomorrow’s draw are Biggleswade FC, who earned a last-gasp 3-2 win at The Eyrie against Northern Premier League Division One Midlands outfit Cambridge City.
And Dave Northfield and Mark Inskip’s side had to come back from behind to head into the next round.
However, they could have been out of the cup in the opening 45 minutes after City missed a number of decent chances.
The visitors took a 12th-minute lead when Taylor Parr benefitted from a near-post flick on to score at the far post.
And, despite those chances, Biggleswade hung on to go into the break just that single goal down.
Just 4 minutes after the restart, the hosts were back on level terms when Alex Marsh turned home a loose ball from close range following a corner that City failed to clear.
But, despite having the better of the second half, it was the visitors who scored again after 63 minutes when Ryan Sharman converted a cross from the right.
Marsh rattled the City post in the 76th minute and 7 minutes later, Biggleswade were level again with a fine goal from sub Jack Dreyer, who volleyed past City `keeper Louis Chadwick from a Lawrie Marsh cross.
It looked odds-on a replay until 4 minutes into stoppage time when Tom Coles set up another sub, Pat McCafferty, who fired past Chadwick.
Bowing out though are Biggleswade’s league rivals FC Romania, who were beaten 2-0 at Theobalds Lane by Isthmian League North Division side Heybridge Swifts.
After having a goal disallowed for offside, Swifts did score a goal that counted 7 minutes later when Andy Fennell got on the end of a fine Darren Phillips through ball to score.
FC Romania pegged Swifts back for long periods of the game but the visitors made sure of victory 13 minutes from time when Ross Wall set up Fennell for his second of the game.
