And Chesham United moved level on points with early leaders Weston-super-Mare, who play on Wednesday, after a 4-2 derby win at The Meadow against Beaconsfield Town.

A crowd of 307 saw Jeanmal Prosper put the Generals in front after 25 minutes and then Ricardo German added a second 8 minutes later.

It got even better for Chesham when Bradley Clayton made it 3-0 with 2 minutes of the first half remaining.

Aaron Minhas reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute, only for Karl Oliyide to restore the hosts` three-goal advantage 6 minutes later.

Minhas grabbed his and the Rams` second 7 minutes from time but the damage had already been done as far as they were concerned.

Metropolitan Police gained a fourth win in seven matches after a 1-0 verdict at newly promoted Hanwell Town’s Powerday Stadium.

Dan Carr broke the deadlock to scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.

And at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium, Salisbury were beaten 2-1 by a Merthyr Town side who recorded their third win.

Lewis Powell gave the Martyrs a 24th-minute lead that Ricardo Rees doubled in the 67th minute.

But there was a somewhat controversial ending to the game when, with a minute or so of normal time remaining, a ball into the box was deemed to have been handled by Ismail Yakubu when the Martyrs were adamant it was a Salisbury hand that prevented the ball going in.

Yakubu was sent-off and Brandon Goodship converted the resulting penalty, but the visitors held firm for three good points.
