Weston-super-Mare have a two-point lead at the top of the early Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South table following Saturday’s round of matches.

Truro`s late penalty win

The Seagulls maintained their unbeaten start with a 1-0 won at the SKYex Community Stadium against last season’s play-off finalists, Hayes & Yeading United.

The hosts had Taylor Miles sent-off 5 minutes before half-time as Dayle Grubb’s 55th-minute effort proved enough for Weston.

Truro City are second and also unbeaten after a 1-0 Bolitho Park victory over Gosport Borough.

The game was looking like heading for stalemate until the 90th minute when Boro’s Rory Williams brought down Rocky Neal and was shown a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity and Neal got up to convert the resulting penalty.

Chesham United’s hopes of maintaining their challenge ended early at The Meadow when their game against Merthyr Town had to be abandoned due to a serious injury to the Generals` Jake Peck.

Promoted Plymouth Parkway still can’t find that first win at Step 3 level as they shared an amazing 4-4 draw at Hartley Wintney, whose equaliser came 6 minutes into stoppage time.

Parkway led at the break through goals from Billy Palfrey after 8 minutes, Ryan Lane on 24 minutes, Jack Crago on the half-hour mark and Ben Seymour in the 39th minute – a Callum Rose own goal having made it 1-1 in the 12th minute.

But the Row made a stunning comeback, with Teddy Davey on 48 minutes and then Harry Cooksley on 56 and then that late effort pulling them back on level terms.

Harrow Borough have broken their duck, however, as they beat another promoted outfit, North Leigh, with a Billy Leonard goal right on half-time.

Hanwell Town, promoted and switched from the Isthmian League, are showing they are going to be a side to watch as they moved into fifth after a fifth win, 2-1 at The Powerday Stadium against Dorchester Town.

Danny Rowe put the Geordies ahead after 25 minutes, only for Alfie Stanley to pull the Magpies back on level terms just before the break.

Rowe pounced again to make it 2-1 with 64 minutes gone on the clock.

Yate Town have only recorded one win to date and were put to the sword at the BlackGold Stadium by Poole Town on Saturday.

The Dolphins found themselves three-up at half-time through Wes Fogden after 5 minutes, the returning Tony Lee in the 14th minute and Toby Holmes on 24 minutes.

Jake Andrews in the 56th minute and Will Fletcher 15 minutes from time made it a nap hand for Tom Killick’s side.

Swindon Supermarine are fourth but were held to their first draw of the campaign to date as Beaconsfield Town shared the spoils at the Webbswood Stadium.

Brad Hooper’s 13th-minute opener for `Marine was cancelled out by Aaron Minhas 4 minutes before the interval.

Salisbury recorded a fifth win when beating promoted Bracknell Town 2-1 at the Ray Mac.

The visitors, under new management, had Anthony Cheshire sent-off just before the end after Sam Ashton on 13 minutes and Darren Mullings in the 54th minute had sandwiched Jordan Espirit’s 22nd-minute reply for the visitors.

Tiverton Town played for 53 minutes with ten-men following the dismissal of goalkeeper Lewis Williams.

Tom Read converted the resulting penalty to pull Metropolitan Police back in the game at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium after Alfie Moulden and Josh Jones had given Tivvy a 2-1 lead.

The ten-men added a third through Matt Buchan in the 74th minute and, despite Jasper Mather adding a second for the Met, the Devonians held firm.

Hendon picked up a point from a 1-1 draw at the Charters Community Stadium against Winchester City.

Tarik Moore-Azille gave the Greens a 15th-minute lead that Silva Obeng levelled for the Citizens in the 36th minute.
