A Trio of New Robins

Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Evesham United have signed two players from Southern Premier Division South side Yate Town and brought in a youngster on loan.

Ben Hammett and Charlie Johnson make the move to the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.

Hammett is a 21-year-old central midfielder who joined Yate in the summer and is another talent to emerge from Hartpury University.

Hailing from Bury St Edmonds, he spent time with Isthmian League North side AFC Sudbury before his move to Gloucestershire.

Johnson is a 21-year-old left-footed defender who also signed for Yate in the summer.

He turned out in 2021/22 for Toolstation Western League side Roman Glass St George and is also a member of the successful Hartpury University football team.

He had a previous spell with Evesham.

Joining United on `work experience` from League Two Cheltenham Town is midfielder Rio Spencer.

The 17-year-old is progressing through the Robins academy and was offered a scholarship by the club in 2021.

He is an attacking, creative midfielder who can glide with the ball and create chances and score goals.
