Beck in for Citizens

Max Mitchell, manager of Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Welwyn Garden City, has added battle-hardened, combative defender Jason Beck to his squad.

The experienced 36-year-old played under Mitchell for 18 months with City’s new league rivals Walthamstow, where Beck spent three seasons.

The Hatfield-based defender has also been a manager himself, leading home-town club Hatfield Town in Spartan South Midlands League football, four years ago.

Beck was also a member of victorious SSML title-winning squads at both Royston Town and AFC Dunstable, as well as seeing service with Hertford Town for a lengthy spell, London Colney, Tring Athletic and Colney Heath.
