Saturday`s Premier Division South Round-Up

Like the Central section, neither of the top two in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South were in action in the league on Saturday and it was the chance for the chasing pack to make up ground.

Hanwell Town, promoted via the Isthmian League South Central play-offs last season, are third and now just three points behind second-placed Weston-super-Mare after recording a 4-1 win against Gosport Borough at The Powerday Stadium.

Danny Rowe gave the Geordies an early 6th-minute lead that Harvey Rew immediately cancelled out.

But that was as good as it got for the visitors as Kain Adom made it 2-1 in the 14th minute and Shomari Barnwell put Hanwell 3-1 up at the break with a 36th-minute third.

Adom scored his and the home side’s fourth with 20 minutes remaining.

Hanwell moved above Chesham United after the Generals were held to a 1-1 draw at the Charters Community Stadium by Winchester City.

But City had to recover from conceding an early 3rd minute Karl Oliyide opener.

Warren Bentley pulled the Citizens back on level terms in the 35th minute.

Poole Town are fifth after they beat second-from-bottom Hartley Wintney 1-0 at the BlackGold Stadium.

The 378 crowd had to wait until 3 minutes from time to see the only goal from the Dolphins` Will Spetch.

Salisbury, with new boss Brian Dutton watching, dropped out of the top five after sharing a 1-1 draw with North Leigh at Eynsham Park.

The Whites trailed to a 38th-minute Jordan Alves effort until 8 minutes from time when Sam Roberts pulled them back on level terms.

Swindon Supermarine moved level on points with Salisbury in seventh after a 3-1 win at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium against Tiverton Town.

Harry Williams` 39th-minute strike for `Marine was the only goal of the opening half.

Ten minutes after the break, Joe O’Loughlin equalised, only for Zac Kotwica to restore the visitors` lead after 75 minutes.

Williams` second of the game 7 minutes from the end sealed `Marine’s victory.

Hayes & Yeading United, tipped by most pundits for promotion after being play-off finalists last season, are up to eighth now after a 3-1 win at the Avenue Stadium against Dorchester Town.

A crowd of 423 saw the visitors lead 2-0 at half-time, thanks to a Hassan Jalloh brace in the 11th and 38th minutes.

Dan Wishart eventually secured the win in the 81st minute, although Olaf Koszela did manage a consolation for the Magpies 3 minutes later.

Plymouth Parkway finally achieved their second win at Step 3 level, beating Harrow Borough 1-0 at Earlsmead.

The only goal came in the 9th minute when Ben Seymour beat the Boro keeper to the ball, leaving Ryan Lane with an open goal.

Yate Town, who beat Parkway 4-0 at home in midweek, suffered a 2-0 loss at the South West Interiors Stadium against Beaconsfield Town.

However, the Bluebells were right up against it when they had Calvin Dinsley sent-off for two quick yellow cards in the 28th minute.

Nathan Minhas broke the deadlock in first-half injury-time to give the Rams the lead and Dan Bradshaw added a second with 15 minutes remaining.
