The top two in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South both won on Saturday and with the rest of the top five failing to win, the gap to third has now widened.

Both Truro City and second-placed Weston-super-Mare won and third-placed Chesham United drew with fourth-placed Poole Town and now trail the Seagulls by four points.

Truro lead the way by a point after edging a best-of-seven-goal thriller at the SKYex Community Stadium against Hayes & Yeading United.

Hassan Jalloh gave United an early 7th-minute lead that Moses Emmanuel doubles 10 minutes later.

Tyler Harvey pulled one back for the White Tigers in the 28th minute and Dan Sullivan equalised just 2 minutes later.

Jalloh restored the home side’s advantage 9 minutes into the second half, only for new loanee Adam Porter to equalise on 72 minutes.

And then with 10 minutes remaining, Rocky Neal was fouled in the box and Harvey stepped up to convert the resulting penalty and win it for Truro.

A crowd of 786 at the Optima Stadium saw Weston beat fifth-placed Hanwell Town 3-0.

Jordan Bastin gave the Seagulls a 10th-minute lead that he doubled just before half-time.

It wasn’t until the 86th minute that Weston scored their third through Jay Murray.

There were 451 at The Meadow to see the clash between Chesham and Poole end all-square.

Karl Oliyide gave the hosts an early 6th-minute lead that he doubled after 28 minutes.

Luke Pardoe reduced the deficit 6 minutes into the second period and then Tony Lee pulled the Dolphins back on level terms in the 64th minute.

Swindon Supermarine could have gone into fourth place had they won at the Webbswood Stadium against Winchester City but were beaten 2-1.

It was goalless until 20 minutes from time when Silva Obeng broke the deadlock to give Winchester the lead and then Warren Bentley added a second just 2 minutes later

In the 77th minute, Conor McDonagh pulled one back for `Marine but they were unable to find a leveller.

Metropolitan Police moved into seventh spot with a comfortable 4-1 win at the Ray Mac against Salisbury in front of 672.

The Met got off to a great start when Tom Read gave them an early 2nd-minute lead.

Herson Alves doubled the visitors` lead from the penalty spot in the 35th minute and he scored again, this time from open play, 7 minutes into the second half.

Alves completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute to make it 4-0, with Brandon Goodship netting an 80th-minute penalty consolation for the Whites.

Plymouth Parkway completed a comprehensive third win of the campaign to date in hammering fellow strugglers Hendon 6-0 at Bolitho Park – the Greens are bottom and Parkway now 19th.

However, the game changed in the 16th minute when Hendon had goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowksi sent-off for handling the ball outside his area – defender Tommy Brewer having to don the gloves.

Ben Seymour gave the home side a 22nd-minute lead that Callum Hall added to just 3 minutes later and then Seymour made it 3-0 with only 28 minutes gone on the clock.

Seymour completed his hat-trick 11 minutes into the second half and scored a fourth on 66 minutes to make it a nap hand – Jack Crago adding a sixth 3 minutes later.

North Leigh are second-from-bottom after also being hit for six at Bracknell Town.

Another of the league’s Emirates FA Cup heroes warmed up nicely for their big First Round tie with Ipswich Town, taking an 8th-minute lead through Kamaron English.

Joe Grant made it 3-0 by half-time with a brace in the 27th and 45th minutes.

Jordan Esprit matched Grant with a brace of his own in the 49th and 51st minutes, with Daryl Sanders wrapping things up with a sixth just 5 minutes from time.

Yate Town remain in the bottom four, but Hartley Wintney pulled out of it after beating the Bluebells 3-0 at the Memorial Playing Fields.

Matt Drage gave The Row the lead 2 minutes before the break.

Kingsley Eshun doubled their advantage 5 minutes after half-time and a Drage penalty just shy of the hour-mark rounded things off for the hosts.

Another side looking forward to an FA Cup First Round tie are Merthyr Town and they showed a bit of character on Saturday by coming back from 2-0 down to earn a draw with Harrow Borough at the Met Coaches Stadium.

George Moore after 31 minutes and Montel Brown 4 minutes later had Boro in control at the break.

But Lewis Powell pulled one back with 12 minutes to go and then in the 86th minute, Andy Lewis popped up with the Martyrs` leveller.

Tiverton Town held on with ten-men at Holloways Park to record a 2-1 away win against Beaconsfield Town.

Tom Purrington gave the Devonians a 32nd-minute lead that Aaron Minhas cancelled out in first-half injury-time.

But seconds after the restart, Josh Jones restored Tivvy’s lead.

Jones` day ended in disappointment, however, when he received a second yellow card just before the end but the visitors held on.

A crowd of 747 saw a 2-2 draw at Privett Park between Gosport Borough and Dorchester Town.

The Magpies took the lead on the half-hour mark through Alfie Stanley.

And they went two-up on 33 minutes with Kieran Douglas the scorer.

Boro responded well though and Dan Wooden pulled one back on 65 minutes and it was the same player who popped up with the home side’s 89th-minute equaliser.
