The 26-year-old central defender joined the Eagles in June following their promotion from Division One Central.
After spells as a schoolboy at MK Dons and the now-defunct Rushden & Diamonds, he moved on to play for Banbury United, Wolverton Town and Dunstable Town.
It was at Dunstable that the 6’3″ Pennell attracted the interest of Dagenham & Redbridge, then in League Two.
He signed for the club in March 2016 and went on to make a total of 47 appearances for the Daggers, scoring one goal, with his form for the East London outfit earning him an England C call up in late 2018 – he now possesses two caps.
He signed for then-National League South club Maidstone United in July 2019 and left in January 2020 and signed for National League North outfit Gloucester City before moving to National League South side Braintree Town in the summer of 2021.
