Melksham Bring in Two on Loan

Pitching In Southern League Division One South have added two players to their squad ahead of the weekend

They have re-signed young goalkeeper Mac Boyd (pictured) on loan from Championship side Bristol City.

The 19-year-old progressed through the Ashton Gate academy and signed a two-year professional deal in May 2022 and has been turning out for the under-23s.

He spent a month on loan with Frome Town earlier this season and then joined league rivals Melksham for his first spell at the end of October 2022.

Melksham manager Mark Collier told his club’s website: “Mac is well known to us all following a previous successful loan and the opportunity for us to take him was one we had to take.”

Also joining Melksham on loan is utility player Jack Carter, who arrives from League One side Forest Green Rovers.

The 17-year-old has made one Papa Johns Trophy appearance for Rovers and has recently been on loan with Melksham’s league rivals Highworth Town.

Collier added: " Jack is a promising utility player who recently signed his first professional contract at Forest Green. He is highly regarded and will bring good competition to several positions".
