The 28-year-old joins the Greens from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Cambridge City where he had been since September 2022, having arrived from league rivals Corby Town, making 15 appearances.
He had moved to the Steelmen in July 2022.
He had re-joined Southern Division One Central side Berkhamsted in December 2021.
The former Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion scholar, who also had spells with Kettering Town Hayes & Yeading United and can play either as a full-back or wing-back.
He signed for Kempston Rovers in 2018 from Scottish side Albion Rovers after a spell in Sweden with Ytterhogdals IK and Skelleftea AIK.
He left the Walnut Boys in the summer of 2019 when he joined Berkhamsted.
In the summer of 2020, Akubuine stepped up to the Vanarama National League South with Hemel Hempstead Town but moved on to Southern Premier Division Central outfit Hitchin Town in October 2020.
