Orient Keeper Sent to Capershotts for Experience

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Waltham Abbey have brought in young goalkeeper Noah Phillips on `work experience` from League Two promotion-chasers Leyton Orient.

The 18-year-old, who is a member of the O`s under-18 squad after coming through the club’s academy, spent the early part of the 2021/22 season on `work experience` with Isthmian League Premier Division side Hornchurch, playing 3 times.

Then in August, Phillips was thrust into the Emirates FA Cup limelight when he donned the gloves for another Isthmian Premier outfit, Bishop's Stortford, against St Neots Town.

He joined the Blues as a replacement for their regular keeper, Jack Giddens, who was getting married on that day!

At Capershotts, Phillips joins Elijah Anthony, who joined the Abbots on loan from Championship side Queens Park Rangers earlier in the week.
