The 26-year-old started his career with Solihull Moors, playing for the Vanarama National League side's academy side before joining Chasetown in October 2013, where he spent time playing for the academy and youth teams.
He then came to prominence when he signed for Hereford United ahead of the 2014/15 season.
A number of impressive performances drew the attention of Cardiff City and Birmingham City, where he spent periods on trial with both.
Following the demise and subsequent folding of Hereford United in December 2014, Yafai signed for Leamington for the remainder of the season.
He then initially moved onto Nuneaton Town in the summer of 2015, but then joined Rushall Olympic in time for the start of the 2015/16 campaign. However, he moved again in October 2015, signing for Bedford Town, and teaming up with his former Hereford United manager Jon Taylor.
He had a loan spell with Hinckley in February 2016, before a return to Rushall Olympic in March 2016.
He spent time playing for Haverhill Rovers, then joined Stourbridge in January 2019, making 6 appearances for the club during the latter part of the 2018/19 season.
He signed for Southern Premier Division Central outfit Tamworth in July 2019 but in the summer of 2021, he moved abroad to play for Egyptian side Tala'ea El Gaish before returning to Tamworth in December 2021.
In January 2022 he switched to league rivals Nuneaton Borough but suffered a serious ACL injury which kept him out of the game until recently.
