Recent Signings You May Have Missed

Catching up with a plethora of recent movements in the Pitching In Southern Football League.

In the Premier Division Central, Ilkeston Town have brought in Derby County goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes on loan until the end of the season.

Foulkes, who is 21, enjoyed two separate loan spells at Vanarama National League North side Kettering Town earlier this season to gain first team experience.

During his time with the Poppies, Foulkes impressed with a number of fine performances from his 17 league outings.

Foulkes made 17 appearances for the Rams’ under-21s in Premier League 2 - Division 1 in the 2021/22 campaign following his arrival from Hull City and trained with the first team squad on a regular basis, as well as acting as the number three goalkeeper.

He has made 3 appearances for the under-21s in league action this term while he has been on the bench for the first team this season on two occasions.

Redditch United brought back defender Ioan Richards.

The 22-year-old started out with League One side Cheltenham Town and then joined National League North neighbours Gloucester City in July 2019 following his release from Whaddon Road.

He had experience of non-League football in an 18-game loan spell with Southern Division One South outfit Slimbridge in 2018/19 and returned to that division just before Christmas 2019 with Mangotsfield United.

He signed for Redditch for the first time in July 2020 and then-Southern Premier Division South side Taunton Town in August 2021.

After Taunton were promoted in 2021/22, he stayed in the division by signing for Yate Town in August 2022.

Royston Town added a youngster with a famous footballing name.

Glenn Hoddle’s second cousin George Hoddle joined the Crows on `work experience` from League One Cambridge United.

The 17-year-old midfielder was previously on loan at St Neots Town when they were members of the Southern League.

In the Premier Division South, Gosport Borough added Lewis Kinsella on a month’s loan from National League side Wealdstone.

The 28-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Stones so far this season, having joined them in the summer of 2022.

The left back came through Arsenal’s academy before moving to Aston Villa’s academy in 2011.

He failed to make an appearance at the Villains but had spells out on loan at Luton Town, where he made his professional debut and at Kidderminster Harriers in the National League.

He signed permanently with Colchester United in 2016 where he made 29 appearances before moving to National League outfit Aldershot Town, initially on loan for a month, before signing permanently at the end of January 2018.

Struggling Hartley Wintney signed midfielder Adam Laaref from league rivals Hanwell Town.

The 22-year-old has previous experience on dual registration with Combined Counties League Premier Division North side North Greenford United on dual registration from the Geordies.

Also joining the Row is young wide player Max Mullins on loan from National League side Aldershot Town

The 20-year-old signed professional terms with Aldershot in May 2022.

He came through the ranks at Shots and has played for both the under-18s and under-23s.

He has also spent time out on loan in 2021/22 with then-Isthmian Premier side Leatherhead.

Salisbury extended the loan spells of two young players until the end of the season.

Midfielder Seung Woo Yang remains at the Ray Mac from National League side Eastleigh, while Sutton United’s Tobi Ogundega will also stay with the Whites until May.

The central defender was previously a member of the academy team at MK Dons.

Yate Town have added forward Jamal Salawu to their squad.

The 19-year-old joined newly-promoted Cymru Premier side Pontypridd United in August 2022 after being released by League One Plymouth Argyle at the end of last season.

He played with Bristol Central right up until under-16s, where he was picked up by Argyle and offered a scholarship.

He was allowed to leave Pontypridd at the end of January.

In Division One Central, Aylesbury United brought in forward Jaime Obama.

The 23-year-old joins the Ducks from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Arlesey Town.

His previous clubs also include Thatcham Town and Newport Pagnell Town, as well as the Spanish sides CD Leganes, CP Parla Escuela, UE Segur, EMF Aluche, CD Coslada, SAD Cenafe and AD Sesena.

Biggleswade Town signed left winger or attacking midfielder Ruben Carvalho.

Carvalho, who turns 23 next week, moves to the Waders from Southern Premier Division Central side Kings Langley, where he had been since the summer of 2022.

He joined then-Isthmian Premier club East Thurrock United in February 2022 from Isthmian North side Basildon United, where he had been since October 2021, making 18 appearances and scoring 4 goals.

Previously with Brentwood Town, who he signed for in September 2020 from Isthmian Premier side Bowers & Pitsea, he had joined Bowers from then-Isthmian South Central outfit Staines Town, where he had been since October 2019 following a short stay at Cheshunt, having spent the previous season at Enfield Borough, and earning a trial with Peterborough United.

Before that he had five years with the Chelsea centre of excellence.

He was born in Portugal.

Struggling FC Romania added two more players to their squad in Darnell Baxter-Alleyne and Omar Eisa.

Baxter-Alleyne is a 20-year-old midfielder who joins from league rivals Hertford Town, where he had been since the summer of 2022 after joining from Southern Premier Division South side Metropolitan Police.

He was previously on Championship side Huddersfield Town’s books.

Eisa, 18, is a Sudanese forward from who began his career with Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers, progressing through the academy to become a regular in the under-18s at Loftus Road.

He moved to National League side Aldershot Town in the summer of 2022, featuring in the Shots` under-19 side.

Kidlington added midfielder Charlie Kille to their group.

The 23-year-old joins the Greens from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Daventry Town, where he had been since October 2022.

He was previously with Wantage Town, where he had been since the summer of 2020 and was with the now defunct Hellenic League outfit Brackley Town Saints ahead of joining the Freds.

Nicky Ironton, manager of Walthamstow, signed defender Alieu Njie.

The 25-year-old moves to Wadham Lodge from league rivals Welwyn Garden City, where he had returned to in August 2022.

He started out with Championship side Blackpool, making the under-18 side before being released in the summer of 2016 and joining Isthmian Premier side Lewes.

He switched to Heybridge Swifts in September 2016 and then to Wealdstone in October 2016.

He next signed for Isthmian Premier side Wingate & Finchley in July 2018 before switching to Welwyn Garden City in November 2019 on loan for the remainder of that season.

In Division One South, Bideford AFC have brought back the beautifully-named striker Kevin Fyneboy.

Apart from the Robins, the experienced 34-year-old has been around the West Country scene for many years, playing for the likes of Dobwalls, Plymouth Parkway, Tavistock AFC, Ivybridge Town and Callington amongst others.

Exmouth Town have brought in League One neighbours Exeter City’s under-18 goalkeeper Andrew Sowden on `work experience`, whilst Slimbridge have taken League One Forest Green Rovers` young striker Jotham McLaughlin on similar terms.

The 18-year-old joined Forest Green at under-14 level and has also been with Toolstation Western League side Street.
