Hobbs Goes for the Familiar

Lee Hobbs, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Plymouth Parkway, has strengthened his squad ahead of the run-in and next week’s signing deadline.

With Exeter City re-calling goalkeeper Harry Lee due to an injury to the League One side’s number one, Gary Woods, Hobbs has brought in two keepers, both of whom are well-known to Parkway fans.

Returning to Bolitho Park on dual registration with Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Saltash United is Jordan Duffey.

The 21-year-old joined the Ashes in the summer of 2022, having been on the books briefly at South West Peninsula League Premier Division West side Bodmin Town after leaving Parkway.

He originally signed for Hobbs` outfit in July 2021 from another SWPL side, St Blazey.

After starting out at Championship side Cardiff City, where he became a regular in the under-18s, he has gone on to have spells with Dobwalls and Wadebridge Town.

Another keeper returning to Parkway is 20-year-old Jack Arthur.

The 20-year-old was a regular for Exeter City’s under-18s and has been in and around the first team and has played for the under-23s.

In December 2019, was on the bench for Exeter’s first-ever league meeting with Salford City and was an unused substitute on 5 subsequent occasions that season.
He signed professional terms with the Grecians in the summer of 2021 and was immediately sent out on what was initially a season-long loan to Division One South side Bideford AFC. However, in October 2021 he was re-called by Exeter and sent out on loan to Bideford’s then-league rivals Barnstaple Town and he also had a spell on loan with another Division One South outfit, Larkhall Athletic.

Arthur signs dual terms as he is also on the books SWPL side Crediton United.

Another hugely popular player who has penned dual forms for Parkway is big forward Adam Carter.

Now 35, Carter holds the record for the all-time top goalscorer in the South West Peninsula League and has won the league’s `golden boot` award three times consecutively between 2011 and 2013.
