The 22-year-old left Greenwich Avenue earlier this month and signed for Northern Premier League Division One East strugglers Carlton Town.
But the change in management has persuaded Betts to re-join Basford.
Betts signed a development contract with Vanarama National League outfit Notts County ahead of the 2019/20 season.
After impressing for the under-18s and turning out regularly for the under-23s during the 2018/19 campaign, he showed enough promise to continue his stay at Meadow Lane.
He spent time on loan with NPL Division One Midlands side Spalding United during 2019/20 and then signed for Basford for the first time in August 2020 and spent time on loan at NPL Division One South East side Worksop Town in October 2020.
