Charlie Madden
Defender Charlie Madden, midfielder Jamie Hearsey and forward Cameron Gill have all moved to The Sports Ground.
Madden was recently released by Southern Premier Division South title-chasers Truro City, who he joined in March 2022 but whose time with the White Tigers has been plagued by injuries.
He made 6 appearances last season before making a further 3 this term.
He briefly signed for South West Peninsula League Premier Division East side Newton Abbot after leaving Truro.
The 26-year-old had joined Truro from league rivals Dorchester Town where he had been since the summer of 2020 after arriving from another league rival, Weston-super-Mare.
He had moved to the Optima Stadium in June 2019 after completing a four-year scholarship in the USA.
The imposing 6`3” centre-back, who is also capable of playing in central midfield, came through the ranks with League One side Exeter City and upon completing his scholarship was not offered a contract and left the Grecians in 2015.
He made the move to American university Franklin Pierce during the latter part of 2015.
He took up majoring in sports management while also taking a four-year scholarship with the team.
During his four years at the university, he made 40 appearances and scored 5 goals before returning to England and signing for the Seagulls.
Hearsey joins the Robins from South West Peninsula League Premier Division East side Torrington AFC where he had been on dual registration.
He had moved to Torrington earlier this season from Bideford’s league rivals Willand Rovers.
The 20-year-old had made 15 appearances for Rovers this season.
Gill came through League One Exeter City’s youth system, having been at St James’s Park since under-9 level after being spotted at a local 6-a-side tournament.
The striker, originally from Newton Abbot, prided himself on his finishing as well as being a good technical footballer that has the ability to pull the strings with his link-up play.
In 2015, he was on loan at Truro City and was released by Exeter in July 2016.
More recently he has been with another South West Peninsula League Premier Division East outfit, Brixham.
