Three New Swans

Slimbridge’s tough battle to avoid relegation from the Pitching In Southern League Division One South has been boosted by the arrival of three new players.

Dion Ellis-Clark is a versatile defender or midfielder who joins the Swans from Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One side Hartpury University.

The 21-year-old was previously with Hellenic League Premier Division outfit Tuffley Rovers, Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League side Borth United and Cymru Premier Aberystwyth Town’s under-19s.

Full back or central defender Alfie Toland has also arrived at Thornhill Park from Hartpury University.

The 20-year-old started this season with Wessex League Premier Division outfit Portland United after recovering from a broken leg in April 2022 whilst on the books at Vanarama National League side Eastleigh, where he had progressed in the academy after joining from Southern Premier Division South outfit Dorchester Town.

Toland also gained experience with Slimbridge’s league rivals Willand Rovers last term

And, as briefly reported last week, young striker Joe McLaughlin has joined the Swans from League One neighbours Forest Green Rovers on `work experience` until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old joined Forest Green at under-14 level and has also been with Toolstation Western League side Street.
