Shaun Semmens
The experienced Shaun Semmens joins from South West Peninsula League Premier Division West sided Godolphin Atlantic, who sadly folded in January due to financial issues and a lack of volunteers.
He had re-joined Atlantic in the summer of 2022.
Semmens broke into Godolphin’s first team more than a decade ago, then a fresh faced 16-year-old, and went on to establish himself as one of the top custodians in South West Peninsula League football.
The now 31-year-old played a major part in the Blues’ meteoric rise from the East Cornwall League, earning an SWPL Division One West winners medal in 2013 and a Walter C Parson League Cup in 2015.
Work commitments meant a move to the Bristol area in 2015, with Semmens training at local side Mangotsfield United before journeying back to Newquay for match days.
A permanent transfer to the Mangos was to follow in September 2016, prior to settling in at Larkhall Athletic from January 2017.
Godolphin moved quickly to snap up the fan favourite upon his move back to the Newquay area.
Hobbs has also dual-registered another keeper in Lewis Moyle.
Born in Truro, Moyle started out at the Cornwall Centre of Excellence at Brannel School with and progressed into the Argyle academy at the under-10 stage.
He represented the academy in the Super Cup in Northern Ireland in 2017 and 2018, as well as representing West Cornwall Schoolboys at under-13s, under-14 and under-15 level.
The 19-year-old was released from Home Park at the end of last season, having been a member of the under-18 side.
He signed for Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Mousehole in June 2022.
