Eagles Pull in Loan Signings

Bedford Town, facing a battle against relegation from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central after just one season, added a couple of loan signings ahead of the deadline.

Ben Tompkins has joined the Eagles from county neighbours, Championship side Luton Town on loan until the end of the season.

A member of the Hatters` development squad, he helped Luton to win the Bedfordshire Senior Cup against Biggleswade FC on Tuesday.

This is the centre-half's first loan away from Kenilworth Road, and it comes at the same time as the 18-year-old former Barnet youngster has signed his first professional contract with the Hatters.

Bedford also announced the signing of Dani Lucas on `work experience`.

The 18-year-old winger is currently with League One side MK Dons.

Earlier this season, Lucas was also registered with Bedford’s league rivals Stratford Town, and will remain at The Eyrie for the remainder of the season.
