Kieran Gauthier
Rovers started well and Ashton Grant went close early on before the visiting Brecklanders came even closer when Manny Machaya hit the crossbar.
The visitors` Jake Mann was then denied by Rovers` keeper Matt Boylan before
Jamele McKenzie-Lowe had an effort go close for the hosts.
Goalless at the break and all to play for, and then, just 4 minutes after the restart, Rovers broke the deadlock when Grant volleyed home from range to after Josh Adeyileka had played the ball through to him.
Adeyileka then came close to increasing the home side’s lead before the game turned against Thetford on 69 minutes when they had defender Matt Morton sent-off for a second bookable offence.
Five minutes later, Rovers took advantage of their extra man and, shortly after
Joe Sutton had forced Thetford `keeper Tom Smith into a fine near post save, Kieran Gauthier doubled the hosts` lead after a scramble in the area.
An excellent save from Boylan prevent the visitors from scoring a consolation in stoppage time, but it was job done for the Bedfordshire side.
