Munroe expressed his desire in retaining Chettle following the end of his current deal but is fully respectful of his wishes to get back into the professional game and his four-year stay with the club will now end.
On his time at Greenwich Avenue, Chettle said: “I’ve been here now for four years in two different roles, and it’s been a great experience.”
The former Nottingham Forest defender, who played over 500 games in the Football League, including 415 for Forest after being signed by Brian Clough, joined Basford in 2019, having previously managed Ilkeston Town and been caretaker manager twice at Notts County.
