Highly Rated Pair Commit to Bashley

Bashley, who enjoyed a fine first season back in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South after an absence of six seasons, have announced that they have managed to tie down two of their highly rated players.

The club is delighted to confirm that midfielder Billy Lowes has committed to the Black & Gold, by signing on for the 2023/24 campaign.

The 26-year-old signed for Bashley in May 2022 from Southern Premier Division South side Dorchester Town.

He had joined the Magpies in 2017 from neighbours Weymouth, for whom he made 80-plus appearances in two seasons.

Originally with Poole Town, he has also had loan spells with AFC Totton and Wimborne Town.

Defender Cameron Beard has also agreed to stay on at the GlenMex for the new season ahead.

The 24-year-old centre-back re-joined Bashley in January 2023 from Wessex League side Shaftesbury.

He made 50 starts for Shaftesbury during the 2021/22 campaign as the Rockies attempted a charge for promotion from the Wessex League - notching 14 goals.

In addition, whilst not achieving promotion with Shaftesbury last year, the former attacker did win silverware in the form of the 2022 Wessex League Cup.

He has also found the net on 34 occasions in 49 appearances in a Bashley shirt over two spells between 2018 and 2021, with a short time at Hamworthy United between those stints - scoring 9 goals in 14 matches for the Hammers.
