Westbury finished their first season at Step 4 level in a very respectable 10th place and flirted with a top five spot at one stage.
And last night Westbury claimed a trophy by beating a youthful Swindon Town side 3-0 at the County Ground.
Westbury took a 9th minute lead when a corner found its way to Ryan Bole on the edge of the area and he fired past Town `keeper Jack Copland.
Dan Price almost doubled United’s lead 5 minutes later, only to see his header from a free-kick bounce back off the crossbar.
But they did make it 2-0 after 22 minutes when Joe Stradling’s deflected effort beat Copland.
Westbury went into the break two-up – and almost added a third immediately after the restart but once again the bar was struck by Stradling.
However, within seconds, United did make it 3-0 when Harvey Flippance was fouled in the box and Steve Hulbert duly converted the resulting penalty.
It was Swindon’s George Alston’s turn to hit the crossbar in the 73rd minute but Westbury held firm to claim the Wiltshire Premier Shield for the first time.
